I told you I would have something profound...and I SO did.
But...
Saturday night I couldn't sleep. I had a monster (snot) in my head that was wreaking all kinds of havoc. And also my husband was demonstrating his mad impression skillz - the one where he sounds like a chain saw.
So anyway, I did what everyone does. I started writing a blog entry in my head.
I know! Right now you are saying, "Oh my goodness (or whatever much hipper people like you say) I SO do that!!
It was SO good, too. It was probably the best thing I ever had to say.
So the last thing I remember was, "I have GOT to remember this."
Like I said, that's the last thing I remember. Sorry.
Schyler and I did have a very important woman to woman conversation this weekend.
She came to me and said, "Mom. I really have something I have to talk to you about." She says this a lot.
So in all seriousness I asked her what it was.
She said, "I mean, I am definitely a Christian. I love Jesus a lot. And I don't want you to think I don't. (Oh dear. This could be bad.) But it's just...that...I don't think my clothes are very cool."
At this point I'm thinking what in the world does she want to wear? If the coolness of her clothes could make me think she's going to wind up in hell. However, I'm also comforted in the fact that if having uncool clothes ups our place in Heaven, I must be God's right hand woman.
She explains to me that maybe it's time she get away from the fuzzy stuff and move on to more sparkles.
Ooooooooh. Gotcha.
Sparkles.

Bless her bones, go get the child some sparkly clothes.
Too funny, where do they get this stuff???
i'm kind of glad you forgot that other post (which, i so do that almost everyday!) because this one is so darn good! sparkles. i better add some to my wardrobe, too.
That is an AWESOME conversation! I love it. I think that Jesus definitely approves of a bit of sparkle.
And I keep a post-it note beside my bed for ALL mid-night blog ideas. Most make me wonder why I even considered that an "idea" when I wake up in the morning.
I think there were possibly even sparkles on the shroud of turin.
