Thus begins the insanity.
I kid you not. We leave to go camping today.
I am telling you - the Griswold's ain't got nothin' on us.
My husband has the next 10 days off so we, along with our two year old nephew are going camping. Yes.
It really does look to be a great time, though. We are going for the next four days with our homeschool co-op group. I'm pretty sure the campground is full from just our group! So we are looking forward to a good time.
Although I've had to convert my husband into a camper, my sweet grandparents instilled in me the love of camping. I can't even count the number of good times they provided for us! Every summer they took all their grandkids on a camping trip. We always camped in tents, but I remember when they bought their pop-up. I was somewhere in the preteen years and I thought we were high rollers! I couldn't believe the luxury! Of course now I know that it was pretty much a tent on wheels, but I didn't care then and I don't care now.
I have played in every creek from here to Tennessee, "saved" campfires from imminent doom due to rain, hiked who-knows-how-many miles of trails. I have graduated from every Junior Ranger program the state parks offered. Wonderful, wonderful, dear memories. All because of the best Granny and Granddaddy.

Oh Jennifer. Bless you during the next 4 days...
Yet another thing we have in common. We're going camping next weekend. We've been camping one to three times a year for the past 13 years now. Fall is my favorite time to go.
Oh, and we're tent campers, too. Of course, we call our tent the Taj Mahal. It is mighty big... which with three "men" and two "women" and a beagle in the crate in the corner, it needs to be!
Have a good time!
