The Prodigal Returns

Well our prodigal came home. Not you, Aunt Mollie. Aunt Mollie is our prodigal because she went yankee on us. Moved up north several years ago and we ain't got 'er back yet.

We could say the same thing about Uncle Hugh, but he and his family swear that North Carolina is still the south. I personally, do not see how a state with the word "north" in it's name could be southern, but whatever.

I mean they could prove it by changing the name to, say...Upper Carolina, Second South Carolina. Or, Not Quite As South But Still South Carolina.

Could you imagine that on one of those little oval bumper stickers with the abbreviation - NQASBSSC. That would rock. I may get some of those printed up in my effort to get North Carolina to change it's name.

Have I ever mentioned before that I refuse to medicate my ADD?

So anyhoo...

I'm talking about dear Theo. Theo has gained quite some independence. he ran off for a couple of days without so much as one word. But like all kids, he came home. And like all good parents, we welcomed him home. And gave him a nice big supper. Well, I mean, it was cat food, but he loved it.

Tell Theo that his AuntMamaHen said he better behave and stay close to home.

And yes, I lived in NC for one year, and even though it is a lovely place it is NOT a Southern State. And I know southern.

Our Yankee Prodigal, is that how we should address our Christmas cards to them?

LOL - you crack me up. I love your randomness!

Glad Theo came home! Although it's probably good he's getting some independence too - nothing beats enjoying the best of both worlds.
