There are sveral bugs going around...

I am so exhausted today. I have been helping Schyler rehearse for her audition for the African Children's Choir.

We got the incredible opportunity to see them today. Yes, it was incredible. I cried start to finish. I know! Who knew? I have feelings! I must have just caught them from someone. Are they contagious?

Well anyways...Schyler is pretty sure she wants to join. She has practiced drums on pretty much every surface of the house and made up dances and songs.

When I told her I was tired and anyway I needed to check on supper, she informed me that I couldn't quit. This was too important. This could affect whether or not she gets in.

Welllll, sorry to tell ya' kid, but I'm pretty sure that's NOT why you're not getting in the African Children's Choir.

We also got to meet our new friend today! She just joined her forever family. We were so happy to see each other! She is 8 years old and it is like she's always been here. She and Schyler really hit it off. Schyler spoke to her in English like she understood and she spoke to Schyler in Chinese like she understood! It was hilarious!

What a multicultural day we had! Now if I had just stopped for Greek for lunch, I probably could have counted it as a school day.

Gotta love that kind of unbridled enthusiasm :)

I say count it as a school day! Did you consume french fries at any point in the day? Scream a German curse word? I think these things count ;)

Of course it counts as a school day!

You are not going to believe this, but Matt and Abbie had this long conversation about Africa on the way to Heritage Girls and Scouts last night. Abbie told Matt she thought she was from Africa. I listened to see where this was going. Matt told her she couldn't be from Africa, that people from Africa were brown. She declared her anscestors were brown, but they had a white child and sent her here. My mind at this point is trying to get all this. And not laugh my head off. Matt told her the Clarks were German and the Wrights were Irish and she was white. Abbie then declared she could be all three if she wanted too! Matt just finally gave it up. I think she might have gotten some German Clark stubborness in there somewhere. Sorry for the nove.
